This one of a kind motorcycle was customized as part of the Ducati North America's Inaugural "Maverick" program, by prolific celebrity tattoo artist GRIME, known worldwide and with a tattoo waiting-list in excess of three years.
This motorcycle originated as a Scrambler Ducati Icon, the first model of Ducati's Scrambler lineup, which is now the company's most successful model.
It was artistically hand-crafter through the forming of steel and aluminum in order to merge the world of motorcycling with that of tattooing, bringing together titans of separate industries of creative expression.
Frame No. ML015ANM3HT010815
Engine No. 5ANH005895
This one-of-a-kind motorcycle was customized by celebrity tattoo artist GRIME—a tattoo artist who is both known worldwide and has a client waiting list longer than three years—as part of Ducati North America’s inaugural Maverick program. The motorcycle originated as a Ducati Scrambler Icon, the first of Ducati’s Scrambler model line and the company’s most successful, and was then handcrafted through forming steel and aluminum over the course of more than three months. The build includes a custom-fabricated gas tank, tail and headlight, the paint was completed by Moto J Refinish, and an extensive rewiring was handled by Ducati Master Technician Max Mueller. Additional modifications include the use of Andreani fork cartridges, Ohlins rear shock with remote pre-load and adjustable compression, custom 2-1-2 Termignoni High Mount Exhaust, a custom seat, a rear tail light from a Ducati 996, dual throttle body conversion, dashboard and an oil cooler from a Ducati Hypermotard. It was built in collaboration with the expertise of Ducati dealer Marin Speed Shop in Marin, California, featuring a blue color palette inspired by the Italian National Soccer Team and angular 1980s motocross styling cues, and with GRIME’s touch, it successfully merges the world of motorcycling with that of tattooing, bringing together titans of separate industries for creative expression. The look and feel of the motorcycle was forged by GRIME to blend rebellion and fun, inspired by ‘80s dirt bike designs and the feel of a “warm summer day.” This motorcycle debuted at the Handbuilt Motorcycle Show in Austin, Texas, during MotoGP race weekend in April 2017
