The Silver-Mixing-Stick was deigned specifically for the printing industry...it is not just a piece of aluminum like the stuff sold at your local hardware store.
Engineering and Manufacture of a Silver-Mixing-Stick
The Silver mixing-Stick is custom extruded using a super-strong aluminum alloy which is heat treated and then anodized with a clear finish. The edges that run down the length of the stick have been designed with a specially beveled profile designed specifically to mix liquids more completely! The width of the stick was designed to optimize both scooping and mixing of thick inks.  The Mixing-Sticks are cut to exactly 12-3/4" long, then one end is CNC machined to eliminate the corners and edges. Then the CNCed end is precision hand polished to a mirror finish to ensure that the sticks are perfectly smooth and will not tear mesh or create plastic curly cues in your ink which are created by other mixing devices by scratching the inside of the bucket . The final result is a no nonsense tool that gets the job done quickly and effectively.
