Presented for Your Consideration
A quintessential Art Nouveau maiden form appears affixed to a kneeling position but this initial perception belies an underlying strength and stamina needed to hold and sustain the glass work and weight above her shoulders that perpetuate the function of this beautiful centerpiece lamp. The bronze skin and lamp structure are in excellent condition and show no cracks, breaks or separations often seen in similar offerings. The warm chocolate surface is almost completely absent of blemish and wear despite the near-100 years of its existence. All electrical parts appear original and in fine working order. The art glass shade in warm amber and hints of copper ruby and green-blue was made in 2004, specifically finished for this lamp and is included with the purchase.
I have given the lamp a cursory cleaning and leave the rest to the buyer's discretion.

KBW Kathodian Bronze Works Company (1900-1917)
Bronze-clad (is) a manufacturing technique whereby a skin of bronze was made to adhere to a plaster form through the process of electro-plating. A handful of companies used this method in the early 1900s to make decorative household objects that had the look, feel and heft of solid bronze yet still was affordable by the middle class. One of those companies was
Kathodian Bronze Works of NYC
. They used the trade name
ArtBronz
which appears, along with the initials
KBW
, on all their items. Kathodian was one of the earliest to use the electro-forming method. - Source : WorthPoint
I made the art glass shade in my glass blowing studio. I acquired this piece with a handsome hoard of lamps and period parts from established antiquities dealers over the years for my lighting business. I am saddened by her departure but also delighted she may be lovingly received and put to good service by new caretakers. This listing is for a genuine artifact of a bygone era that will be a pleasure to welcome into a new home.
The pictures are an important part of the description. Please ask all questions prior to purchase. All reasonable offers welcome.

Make sure your shipping address
is updated and accurate on eBay
Buyer only pays USPS shipping postage and insurance. I foot the cost of packing products and labor for USPS items. I use clean, recycled materials and a heavy-duty box whenever possible. Tall and long items can bend during transport and become damaged when passed from hand to hand.
Oversized packages, long distances and difficult terrain may require special handling.
Special packing increases my costs in
labor and materials
but I do not pass this on to the buyer. However, special packing may make the package larger or heavier and may impact postage and delivery costs.
UPS will pack, insure and deliver purchases with nearly 100% guarantee or your money back. If used, their shipping cost will reflect the added service (above eBay's shipping calculator).
